Customer engagement, one mobile app at a time

iphone 5 stockholm iphone 5Virgin Australia Voyeur’s Travel Guide app installments launched a fifth round via IOS and Android platforms this week (March 1) cementing the airline’s position as a travel smart companion for its users.

The ‘benefit filled’ crafted content developed in conjunction with the Virgin Australia Voyeur magazine edition for corresponding months is now available for 10 cities/locations – five national and five international. The content on offer within the digital pocket guides is sourced by local ‘on-the-ground’ writers in each territory and provides the frequent Virgin Australia traveler with up to the minute and on-trend stories of happenings in each city, where to stay and what to do guidebook-styled information.

Perth and Los Angeles the two cities launched initially are enjoying significant usage and for Virgin Australia the uptake of the app is reflective of the niche content offering they have tailored.

The Virgin Australia guest mindset is captured via the Travel Guide app content says Virgin Australia Group Executive, Danielle Keighery.  “We know that travel inspiration and destination recommendations are useful for our customers who travel frequently which is why we have launched a dedicated Voyeur Travel Guides app which taps into the knowledge of in-the-know locals, and our expert travel writers, to provide unique and informative tips on the places we fly.’’

Developed by Pacific+ the Voyeur Travel Guides function as portals to various city locations – off the beaten track hot spots with March’s launch featuring European City: Stockholm in Sweden and the South Australian Wine Country a focus to coincide with Adelaide’s month long art and culture festival offerings.

Engagement rates for the apps are tracking higher
than anticipated and with nearly 2000 downloads in four months, the apps’ potential represents a significant content objective to continue to fill by
the airline.

Pacific+ Publishing Director Helen Morassut says, “Being able to work closely with a client like Virgin Australia allows us to create and produce executions which create stronger brand and customer connections and relationships. Pacific+ is focused on using bespoke content to help brands such as Virgin Australia develop deeper relationships with their guests.”

Voyeur Travel Guide apps are now available for the following cities:

Abu Dhabi

Los Angeles

South Australia Wine Country

Both apps are free and are available in the Apple App Store and through Google Play store  now.
