HOW DOES IT WORK?

A document managed on Ctrl DL is divided into chapters. Each chapter contains a file that can be edited by users, as well as PDFs, which can be viewed and downloaded.

There are three types of user in each collaborative publishing group: Layout Editors (graphic designers), Text Editors (i.e. those that actually compile, write and edit the document) and Reviewers, who read, check and comment. Every Reviewer comment generates a task for the Editor.

Ctrl DL’s seamless integration between its text editing and design application make it easier than ever for contributors to work with a document's content in a familiar format.

The text editing application features a ‘Layout’ view, so users can edit the document while seeing it as it will actually look in print. This feature alone can save countless hours for the graphic designer, and significantly reduce the time wasted sending countless PDFs, text documents and corrections back and forth between project members.

Design changes and revisions can be made at any stage throughout the compilation process.

Ctrl DL documents are saved on a central server so that authorised members of the publishing work group can securely access the latest version anytime, and from anywhere with Internet access (according to their individual, pre-defined, access permission, of course).
